I hope you’ve had a chance to watch some of the “Truth to Go” segments that were produced by 100 Huntley St. Below is another one focusing on the words of the prophet Isaiah. Often when we think of prophecy we think of future-telling, but in fact the majority of Old Testament prophecy isn’t future-telling at all – it’s forth-telling. The Lord sees a downward trend in his people and he inspires a prophet to speak to the nation. The hope is the truth will trickle down and result in repentance and a renewed focus on justice and righteousness. This message is critical – especially as we focus on mobilizing the Church in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Please watch the episode I’ve posted and then pass it on to your family and friends. These words must be heard.

I've recently completed a new series for 100 Huntley St. called "Truth to Go" and have been posting episodes the past few months for your encouragement. I've posted another episode below that focuses on the prophet Jeremiah and some of his reflections on King Josiah and his son Jehoiakim. In Jeremiah 22:16 we read: "He [Josiah] gave justice and help to the poor and needy, and everything went well for him. Isn't that what it means to know me?" says the Lord.
This is powerful stuff. How do we know God? By ministering to the broken. It's as simple as that. As we look after the needs of the oppressed, we walk in God's presence. This is especially relevant for our work with orphans and widows. God is with us - there is no doubt. I invite you to watch the entire episode below. And please pass it on to your friends and family as well. I'll post another one soon!

In James 1:27 we read: “Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” Understanding what impresses God, is simple – looking after the broken (pursue justice) and keeping yourself clean and pure with God (pursue righteousness). It’s as simple as that. The “Truth to Go” I’ve posted below talks about this very truth. Please watch it and then forward it to a close friend or loved one so they too can be challenged. So much of our Christian witness depends on this emphasis. I’ll post another episode in a couple weeks!
